Projects

We’ve created 6 Code Club projects for your club, as well as a certificate to give to your club members when they’ve completed the projects.

Have fun and let us know how you get on by tweeting pictures of your creations @CodeClub.

Get involved in National Coding Week

National Coding Week is coming up on 19 September – we’ll be coding, will you?

National Coding Week is an initiative that aims to encourage adults to learn coding and Robot - 015other digital skills during the week – and hopefully carry on afterwards of course!

Lorna Gibson, Code Club’s coordinator for Scotland, has come up with a great idea of how to celebrate. She is running a special ‘Code With Grown Ups’ session at her club at Wormit Primary School. Parents will be coming along to learn some code alongside the children who attend the club.

“I would like to claim it is my idea but in fact it was a couple of children last term that thought it would be great to run a session where they teach their parents/ aunts/ uncles/ grandparents etc.

IRobot 001 think mostly they wanted to share the fun they have been having at Code Club but also I think they wanted to demonstrate first hand how many skills they are using and how much thinking that they doing in a typical Code Club session.  I thought it was a great idea and that it would work well for National Coding Week this year.”

We thought this idea was so good that we would share it, in case you wanted to organise a code with grown-ups session at your club too – and that’s not all…

We have 5 special goody bags available Code Clubs who tweet us a picture @CodeClub of an activity that they are doing to celebrate National Coding Week. Inside the goody bag will be a poster for your club room and badges for the children – hooray! We’ll pick the winners at random on the 26 September.
